Our elegant Basketweave Chair is the epitome of neoclassical grace, reflecting the attenuated style of the Boston Federal period, circa 1800.
The gracefully swept rear legs terminate in classic scrollback form, while the front legs taper gently.
The concave basketweave slat, intricately hand-carved front and rear, comfortably supports the sitter's back.
Deep mortise and tenon construction throughout. The seat rails are tenoned through the rear posts and wedged for strength.
The well-padded seat is finely upholstered "over-the-rail" with the customer's fabric and gimp-edged.
