Newport Arm & Side

Regional adaptations and design innovations were common to 18th century windsors. In Rhode Island, turned "pipestem" spindles were often used in chair backs and a reverse curve was turned into the bottom of the leg. Our Newport arm chair features mahogany arms that are mortised into the bow, and a braced back.
