Demarest Lloyd State Park. This view looks across the mouth of the Slocum to Mishaum Point. In the foreground, are the various forms of seaside plant life transitioning in color as summer turns to fall. A large bleached out tree trunk sits along the beach as I walk past with my dog on a fine autumn afternoon.

The painting of the Winery as seen from Drift Road came about quite by accident. Taking an alternate route from Horseneck Beach to Demarest Lloyd state park, I happened to take in this scene at a glance, and I guess it stuck with me. It was an early spring afternoon as I recall, and winter had fled the scene leaving a feeling of freshness in the air. This view seemed to touch that note in me, and after a number of on the site water color studies, I completed this painting in oil paint.
